Back in the 20th century—sounds so long ago!—well before I joined the Coalition, members used to visit NJ Transit rail stations regularly, clipboard in hand, and evaluate conditions. These were then summarized and notable situations reported to the agency. As membership changed, and so much went digital, the practice was abandoned. Within the last year or so, we have resolved to restart the program, but with a 21st century spin—online! We have recreated our
1999 station inspection form on our Website, and anyone can join in! Just go to lackawannacoalition.org/station-inspection, and add as much or as little information as you want. We certainly need the basics: which station, your first name and last initial, your e-mail address, but almost everything else is optional. Not all information applies to every
station; not all applies to every visit. We welcome photos, but not through the Website—mail them to info@lackawannacoalition.org with the date and station, and your name and e-mail address and/or phone number. Your submission of info gives us permission to share it with NJ Transit and on our Website only in conjunction with station reports—if we are interested in any other use, particularly of photographs or quotations, we will confirm that with you separately.
