The theme for the October event will be “Southern Comfort – how new and expanded rail service will improve the lives of everyone in the Southern U.S.”
Advocates and rail managers from around the South will focus on efforts to improve rail service in the region, including in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. Topics will include Virginia’s plans to expand intercity rail; efforts to start Amtrak service between New Orleans and Mobile; and Brightline’s northward expansion to Orlando Airport, now under construction, along with some news about local rail transit. I will be delivering the closing remarks.
The conference is free for RUN members and $25.00 for nonmembers. For nonmembers, that amount will also include a year’s membership in RUN ($25.00 is the introductory rate) at no extra cost.
