Infrastructure Equity in Action, Tuesday, June 21 1–2 p.m. R.P.A. Healthy Regions Planning Exchange

This is a Regional Planning Association event.  We are posting it here as a public service, because we believe that our members and allies will be interested in it.

The e-mail announcing this event said the following:

The Regional Plan Association is pleased to invite you to our second public event of the Healthy Regions Planning Exchange! The Planning Exchange was founded in 2018 as a national network of planners, practitioners, advocates, and community-based representatives working towards health and racial equity in regional planning.

In November 2021, the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) promised $1.2 trillion towards infrastructure development and renewal in the United States. This lucrative funding opportunity may have one of two outcomes: This funding can be used to build and renovate divisive infrastructure around the nation. Or, this funding can be used to construct and restore equitable infrastructure in order to create safer, greener, and more accessible spaces for all.

Please join us on June 21st for a dynamic panel discussion on how regions around the country are envisioning a healthier, more just society. Learn about the measures they are putting in place to achieve that vision — from building partnerships with local communities to centering health equity in all decision-making processes — in anticipation of the federal funding coming down the pipeline.
